Unawtuna is a short but powerful left hand wave that breaks on the reef off Unawatuna Beach.
This wave is for experienced surfers only and not at all suitable for beginners (who should check out Weligama instead).

The rocks, coral and urchins all add to the excitement, especially in a bigger swell.
