The Mulletfish Surf Series in Hossegor, France, has become a classic over the years and was the third event of the 2012-2013 VQS surf tour. Volcom teamed up with Ocean and Earth on this one to offer a 1000€ prize money and more prizes than ever. Adding to this a trip in Fiji for whoever wins the 2013 VQS Champs in the ProAm divison, some small but contestable waves, and a hot and sunny day and you sign up 170 surfers before 9 am. The Forecast being pessimistic for the Sunday, a double podium was the best option to run the 58 heats in one day. On the North podium, the contest started with the Girls division on a small but rippable righthander while the Squids (10 and Under division) where warming up (or cooling down) on the warzone that begun on the main podium with all kinds of beach games. They soon opened this one with the tide coming down, with a perfect Squids paradise 2 feet A frame. Everyone was impressed with the level in this division, with proper turns and carves; we will see them for sure on more podiums pretty soon. Thibaut Manson took the win in a disputed final after a long day at the beach. The Groms division (13 and Under) was full and also quite disputed, but in the end the top seed's met in the finals in a clash that Marco Mignot won, with Erwan Blouin taking the 2nd place, Imanol Geledan in third and Hugo Graciet in fourth.
