A reminder that the U.S. East Coast does not have a copyright on hurricane season
While surfers coagulate at U.S. East Coast hotspots to get their piece of peak hurricane season — praying they’ll score, believing they scored — clean, green Hossegor reminded everyone that: a. ‘Scoring’ is relative; and b. There are two sides to the Atlantic.
This weekend, what locals called the “opening day of the Northern Hemi Winter,” Jeremy Flores, Pat Bevan, Maxime Huscenot, Leo Fioravanti and Frederico Morais were among the European pros who answered the call of France’s best beachbreak. And just like any classic beachbreak session, not every moment was pretty. “It got pretty heavy,” said Pat Bevan. “Just before I got there, a guy popped his shoulder out.”
