Postby pkbum » Mon Dec 10, 2007 12:32 am

I go usually 8 hour. This is because I only surf once per week T_T.
How about you guys?

Wow. Don't you get dehydrated and sunburned? I can surf for about 3 hours although the average is 2 hours, 3 or 4 days a week. I've paddled out 3 times in a day max, but the total surf time was probably about 5 hours. Had to go in to rehydrate, rest, and reapply sunblock. Hurting the next day, tho. You must really be fired up when you surf. :-)

1 hour if the waves are very frequent and I'm catching loads, anything more than that and I can't breath, need inhaler etc. Have to make sure I have enough energy left to actually get out over the rocks. Have binned two boards on the rocks coz I was f***ed and didn't have the energy left to stand up.
2 hours if it's big with a 5 or 10 minute break between sets.
Almost everyday, sometimes twice a day.

i usually go for 90 minute sessions although i usually average out at a lot of rides. If the swell is good i will extend it to around 2-3 hours. Then again i surf 7 days a week. I sometimes have 2 sessions in the winter maybe more sometimes. In the summer on a swell i can spend most the day surfing so i will have 4-5 sessions. Really depends on the weather the swell and what i have to do that day :-)

In other words im unlikely to spend long out if it sucks and its cold

8 hours is INSANE.

I go for an average of 3-4 hours(if its worth it) and by that time I am completely waxed and wanna stop by the local mart and grab some fried calamari and fishnChips lol.

i guess my average on a normal day is closer to 90minutes though.

When I go down to san diego in spring time if the swell is good, i will go out around 6am, then go back out around noon after having some HoDads for lunch. (as i am sure isaluteyou can confirm is a great place to eat between sessions... that or newport pizza!!!)

2 sometimes 3 surfs a day. At the moment, I try to keep them at about 30mins for consitantcy... but often will stay out and have 1-2hr surfs on weekends or the late.

Depends on lots of things, waves, weather, situation.

Usually at least an hour. I find more than 2 difficult in the UK.

I think I managed 3 in Oz on a mellow day.

Doesnt sea water actually dehydrate you?
