stalling

stalling

i seem to keep stalling the board when i go on my backhand (left), im fine going right its just on my backhand. can anyone help me and give me a few ideas what i could be doing wrong?

Yeah I used to have that problem, going frontside it's easier to lean into the wave and retain speed. When (for me anyways) you go backside the tendency is to fall off the back and lose speed. The best thing to do is aim slightly more down the wave and towards the beach in order to use the wave's energy more effectively. If you feel like you're slowing down just change your angle slightly to produce more speed.
If you do this and then move to pumping up and down the wave face the problem should get solved fairly quickly. :)

^What he said.^ I had the same problem. (and probably still have, haven't done any lefties for a while.)
