this came as surprising news to me as before being stopped by friends and put in a taxi i had started to walk home from town

Not surprising in the slightest - I fell off a pavement a few years back, fairly early on in the evening and walked round all night (shitfaced!!) before going home. Woke up at 5am screaming me head off, passed out, woke up again a couple of hours later with a leg the size of an elephant trunk. Broken foot, spiral ankle fracture and 8 weeks in plaster lol

Get well soon, and make sure you don't trip over anything for a good while after its ''healed''... a broken foot is hella easy to break again upto a year after (6 months after the first fall I stood up awkwardly and did it again, went down really well at work!!).

wot exactly have you broken?
I did my left foot metatarsal (sp) tripping over a suitcase whilst drunk. Hobbled around on it for 5 days during whiich time it went black and then slowly back to normal colour visiting most of the spectrum on the way. Finally went to the docs on day 6 or 7 I think and was told it was broken and needed to be in plaster. I'd been surfing for about 4 months then and didn't wanna stop so I gaffa taped my little toe to the next one, as that was broken too, and gaffa taped my foot up. took lots of pain killers and carried on surfing. Its fine now, but be warned, it will be easy to break it again, cos I tripped over my drum seat and broke my toe again, thankfully not the other bit aswell.
(Don't drink anymore, its been 3 months now.)
