Congrats.

Figure it this way - your commute to London is better than mine.

I'm leaving my house at 5:30am this coming Tuesday and won't get into London until 9:30pm, if the Heathrow Express is on time and the traffic from Paddington isn't crazy.

Then I have to race from noontime Friday to Heathrow and will get home about 8pm back in the States. All for 2 1/2 days of work.

....commuters clutching their friday night burger kings  .... Why not start a network rail spontaneous song group to pass the time?

like you mentioned earlier, keep your focus on a long term plan....if you can make the most out of the opportunities that you get in the next couple of years...the communte will seem a distant memory.

good luck mate.

I used to do the commute to London every day for years from Brighton.

Now I walk out the front door, first thing I see is the Pacific and lots of mountains, takes me 15 minutes with hardly any traffic to get to work. The beach is 10 minutes away from the office, and most nights during summer, I either go fishing or for a surf on the way home from work. Sucks
