really sorry to hear about the loss mate, cant really put it into perspective but i can imagine it is pretty damn hard to deal with :!:

i know its a long shot, but do you have a large enough garage to keep all the goods in, or a friends, at least that way you could bundle everything into there for now and keep the website going as a shop :?: :?:

Thanks everyone.

Got a slight extension so now closing Saturday so will at least get some weekend trade throuhg.

Plan is to hopefully keep the website going a little longer at least and hopefully start again. So will have boxes all round the house.

In the mean time a proper job awaits.

Sorry to hear the bad news :( .

I have 3 mates who have each set up a surf shop and 2 have gone tats up. Also I've worked in a surf shop before and so know its a very tempting career but very deceptive in that its really really hard to succeed with few rewards. Not least of the problems seemed to be the suppliers being very unreliable and often very late with getting stock out. The industry seems very bias in favour of the big retailers.

Good luck for the future dude, and at least you had a go.

Three day reprieve, close on Sat. Strange i feel a bit of relief at not having to hide behind the curtains anymore.

Looks like a nice northerly blast for my first week of unemployment (never not had a job before) so a road trip beckons. 8)

so sorry to hear that. :(

like Sar says, I really think it's true that as one door closes, another one opens (even if it's just a small window at first!). Most of the time when I look back on stuff like that, I realise that if that unfortunate/bad thing never happened, something good that you experience later would never have been able to come about, if that makes any sense :?:

hope you have a really good road trip :)

A new door may well have opened, a boardwear co is looking for a North and East rep and invited me over for an informal chat.

In about 2 mins the closed sign goes on the door, but as said above a new one may have opened.

Anyway let the drinking and fireworks comence. I love bonfire parties.

^^^^^ OH YES^^^^^^

Its looking good all week, will be on it Tues Weds on the reefs further north.

A quick break Thurs for Fri and Sat. Early indicatorrs are for some feckin huge surf 10-12ft at exposed spots. Even the more sheltered beaches should hold a good 4-6ft get in.

Shelter it is then looking too big for me at the other spots

Me too, never surfed any reefs, well, just Holbeck but not too big. Hopefully South Bay will be working! I'm over Friday night, Sat and hopefully Sunday, if I'm still in one piece! lol! :?

Still looking good DS, a bit too mch West in it to be classic but still big for the weekend. On it Weds, this whole closing a shop sh1te takes a bit more time than i thought.

For the swell backend of the week still playing the waiting game, winds NW so needs shelter at the mo but could still change.

Its still gonna be big
