Annoying nose dives?

im finnaly at the point where i can catch a wave and pop up correctly. well i thought i had it but now the waves are a little bigger and everytime i go to pop up and im standing, my board along with my body does a huge nose dive and i swear i think my board is gonna be broke after that happens. well how can i stop taking the dive? any tips?

Get further toward the tail of your board and keep low.

There is fine line of being to far forward and to far back on the board. If you are too far foward you experience the pearl (nose dive). If you are too far back you miss the wave. You need to find that sweet spot. It can change from day to day all depending on the steepness of the wave. Also taking off on the wave too late will lead to the pearl. Try paddeling into the wave at an angel this will also help prevent the fall.

I tend to mark my boards at the point where my nose should be - gives me a baseline of where I need to position myself (sorry - that's after I've found the sweet spot) - then I go an inch or so forward or backward of that mark depending on high steep the wave pitches, how fast the waves are, etc, etc
