Can it be done yes on the right day and if you are real strong. Realistically though I would not count on it. There are very few that will pull it off without lossing a lot of ground. I would stick to a turtle roll.

I don't recall seeing anyone doing a turtle roll whilst I've been out surfing.

I just jump over the waves :/ Not ideal, especially when the waves are big or it's deep.

dude if your jumping over waves then no-one in their right mind should be turtle rolling, they would just roll into the sand :roll: :!:

Helmet cam view of me duck diving 2ft slop at saunton on a 7ft magic carpet. The trick is to get up high and a bit earlier to get the nose of the board down.

^^just what I was thinking! That is so awesome KS!

And I have seen people successfully duck dive their 9ft longboards on small days.. so I can imagine someone doing it with a mini mal if they practice it.

I am the worst at duck diving on bigger boards.. my old 6'2 gary linden was simple.. but my 8ft pearson arrow... ah man wears me out!
