Northwest England, is it possible??

Has anyone attempted surfing around the merseyside are, ive tried googling places but havent found anything specific. looking at going to southport most probably, so if anyone knows of any surf shops (that hire out equipmwnt) around here or nearby beaches as i will be staying in liverpool, where i know of only one shop. Any information is greatly appreciated.

Utterly NOT going to happen. If the tides out at southport you need to get a taxi to the waves. Its a very very very flat beach.

Even if you do get to the sea in southport your probably dealing with toxic cold water and slopy surf. Try heading over to wales maybe.
