The state beach is right next to the nuclear generating station, lovingly called the Dolly Parton Monument. It's located between San Diego and Orange Counties in good old Californ-I-A.

Ahh, wee bit too far for me to travel. Funny though, I was surfing in a bay a couple of days ago right beside Doonreay nuclear plant. The bay actually gets monitored for radioactive particles 14 days of every month by a couple of modified buggies and has been fined by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency for record amounts due to breaches of this that and the other thing. It has warning signs, but the surf is awesome.....is this place similar?

oh man otter, i went there today, saturday, both for a morning and late afternoon to evening session. when i came back for the afternoon session the entire beach got covered in fog and there were only a handful of people surfing some nice waves. i could only see about 10 yards in front of me, pretty spooky, but awesome at the same time, felt like i was surfing through clouds. whatd are you riding? maybe i'll spot u there sunday morning.

Actually, yesterday (Saturday), was the final of the Boost Mobile Pro at lower trestles, which was won by Kelly Slater. So there should have been a bit of a crowd over there in the morning.
