If I have been sitting out there waiting for a wave for a little while SOMETIMES things seem to get real quiet. Seems like too quiet. My first thought shark and I pull my feet out of the water and instead of sitting on my board I lay down just to get my limbs out of the water. I do this until the feeling passes. Of course you would have to live in sharky waters which I do. Anyone else ever get a creepy feeling of things getting too quiet?

Or the water is super clear one day and you see them there. They didn't bother you all the times you didn't see them. So why would they bother you when you can see them?
I was at Pea Island on the OBX back in July and it was really clear for some reason, we were sitting in about 8 feet of water, and I saw 5 or 6 throughout the session. Freaked me out at first then I just thought about what I said above.
