My shortboard

Hey, I bought my first 7ft shortboard yesterday before that i used to surf on a 8ft softboard lol, and today i had some troubles catching the waves.Should i have betetr bought a shorter lonboard or a longer shortboard?
I really dont want to sell it or buy another one any advice what i should do?

naturally learning on mal would have been much easier. If you really feel you wont progress on your current board it might be an idea to get a different one - you are the only person that can make that desicion.

Dropping a foot is going to be a change, and going from a softtop to a real board is also going to be a change.

If you are serious about surfing, then you just have to practice and stick with it.

Any board change, regardless, always comes with an adjustment period unless you have surfed a variety of boards on a regular basis.

You can go from one 7 foot to another 7 foot and still have an adjustment period depending on the shape, rocker, rails, trim, etc..
