Did you ride the 7ft plus waves at Whitsand last week?

No waves... no surf.

No sun... no barbeque.

What's happened!

If you're in South Wales (says "Plymouth or Wales" under your username) on Sunday then MagicSeaweed is predicting a little swell hitting around mid-day...

On the other hand, the wind is onshore...

I'm definitely checking it out. Went out for a paddle around today - the sea was choppy; lots of small waves, but nothing surfable. I didn't care, I needed to get out there for a bit. Sigh.

Probably Thursday for me.

4ft wave height, 2ft swell height and 10 second period for Newquay according to MSW. That's the best I've seen on there for a while!

Whoa, do the math how can a two foot swell create a four foot wave on a beach break.
Nothing showing on the spectrals either.

I am however no expert on the SW.

I can almost certainly predict a decent looking small swell for the East Coast (again) Chest to Head High early next week, could change as its early doors but waves again for us.

hmm no idea

I usually just go off the swell height though as not all places have the wave height bit. Last time I went Polzeath it said 2ft on MSW and it was fine for me so Newquay should be ok too. Might change yet though!

Getting excited about Sunday now! :D All indications from MagicSeaweed swell-charts and detailed surf reports suggest there'll be ~2.5-foot waves down here at Manorbier. Even surfcore.com (which seems to be quite pessimistic) is predicting 1-foot/knee-high breaking waves.

What's more, the detailed surf report shows off-shore winds!

:D

It's changed to 2ft waves and 2ft swell for Newquay now. Same for Friday too! I might just get a few sessions in before I go back to work on Monday.

 Look at the period, people.

When MSW says, for instance, 5ft @5s - thats just wind chop. Not a wave.
