Wetsuit thickness for the New Jersey area

Postby Sendr98 » Thu Aug 30, 2007 6:54 pm

Hi, I just started surfing this summer so I don’t really know much about wetsuits yet. I also know next to nothing about the water temperatures on the Jersey Shore (Spring Lake in particular) I don’t think I’m planning on surfing too much during the coldest months of the year like late December-February so I was wondering how long I’d be able to get by with a 3/2 wettie. The water is getting cold and I’m still in board shorts as of last weekend. (I’m not particularly a fan of the cold) The standing logic would just be get a 4/3 and not worry about it at all but since it’s going to be my first wetsuit and I’m still just learning, I think I’d like to keep as much movement as possible. Any help/advice would be appreciated ^^

I don't know about the water temp there but if you get a super stretch suite you will get more movement. I personally have a couple of 3/2 and 4/3. It is better to be comfertable.
