Living on Gran canaria

Postby charlottnoren » Thu Aug 30, 2007 9:59 am

I've heard surf on Gran Canaria isn't the best and that you should try the north if anything. But I will be living and working in the south for a year or so and I just wanted to ask if anyone have any good advice. Or if anyone else is living down there and want to grab a beer.

All info on surfing or cool bars would be great! I am hoping to find a great house on the beach to stay in and bbq my way through winter.

Thanks /Charlotte

The Canary Islands get some of the best surf there is. The islands get called the European Hawaii all the time.

The outside islands get the best swell, I don't have/can be arsed getting a map so I don't know how sheltered Gran Canaria is but it'll still get some great surf and the exposed bits will always only be a wee drive away!!

You constantly read about beach developments ruining surf spots there, so they must be riding something.

Enjoy!
