Surfed Huricane Deans late to arrive groundswell on Wednesday. It was pretty close to EPIC for the Gulf. Long realing Lefts, that had some realy open , thin lipped barrels. One of the best days Surfing I have had in a LONG LONG time. I don't have a lot of pics, but here is one that realy describes the whole day......

Unfortunately we won't get quality like that for another year or so. Hopefully sooner, but we only get our windblown crap. But we score once in a while.

Surfed Sumner last night. Freezing cold, but head high, offshore, not many people about.

Bunking off work in a minute for some more of the same.

Hit Saunton yesterday and today. Waves were 7ft before 11 on Saturday then ranged between 3-6ft. Never surfed there before, it's kind of a weird wave, dead slow, a lot of face but still a fair bit of power to it. I was damn glad I surf a fish though, the few shortboarders there were really struggling.

It was an awesome surf though! I didn't catch as many waves as I'd've like since usually by the time they were ready for me to catch there were 2-4 lonboarders on it! I'm stoked though, I did my first proper carve (turning towards the break and then back, that right??). Fot all that they were annoying, some of the longboarders were absolutely ripping out there!

How was everyone else's surf west coast? Is that you in the photo PapaW? It's a great shot!!
