Two Weeks at the end of the year (Central America)

Postby FormosanSurfer » Mon Aug 13, 2007 11:41 am

I have a vacation from Dec. 22 to January 14 and need to find a spot in Central America to head to. Last year I went to Costa Rica and it was pretty awesome but also really crowded and fairly expensive. This year I was considering Nicaragua, Guatamala, El Salvador, or Panama (open to other suggestions). My main concerns are: Crowds, Access, and $$$. I loved CR because it was fairly easy to get from spot to spot. I hated CR because everyone and there brother who longboards was there - it was great at night because it was such a fun party scene, but the next morning when you stumble down to the break to see 400 people sharing a wave...

Anyhow, help a brother plan his next escape from the terrors of living inland.

hi,
what about Dominican Repiblic, Cabarete
the spot where you can surf called Encuentro, surf is great there, it is not co packed and the people are friendly outside and in the water, at the night party on the beach. for accommodation i can recommend you to go to the surfcamp in cabarete,
they have really good prices incl. breakfast and dinner, there is daily suttle to the surfschool and also surftrips are available

cheers
