No matter what size it was as least you can say you paddled out at Pipe.

Sounds like your enjoying your trip.

I'm still dreaming of the day I can save up enough $$$ to go to Hawaii, and just drive up and see Pipeline. I'd probably shed a tear out of enjoyment to just being there. I can't imagine actually getting to surf it even if it was an off day. That would blow my mind. I'm very jealous and excited for your opportunity!

it was on monday, not wednesday  (it was flat then!) there was a swell and other people out... if anyone was in the area they'd tell you the same. Hawaiisucks probably knows there were waves that day???

it was 6ft in my opinion, but i guess an english 6ft is probably different to a hawaiian 6ft. All I know is that the waves were way taller than me as I was crouched on my board and i'm 5ft2!

Anyways, i don't care what anyone else says... I was there, other people were there, the lifeguards were even using their yellow board to take it in turns throughout the afternoon to get some action! I saw it, rode it and I'm still reliving it in my mind. It was awesome :D I'm still on a high :D

Too true dude, loads of people who don't know, weren't there or just generally clueless going "errr... .it must have been flat!" You could cut the jealousy with a knife.

i went back to pipe today to surf wind swell (possibly from hurricane flosse which is about to hit? i don't know.) i surfed a spot called gas chambers and off the rocks, and drifted down towards pipe. there were what i would call NICE little waves (like 2-4ft) and I took a few photos of the guys surfing it before i went in. you'll have to wait for me to get the film developed though!

i thought id be fine, after all, it was a small day.

i wiped out onto a large rock and dislocated my big toe  spent the afternoon in Wahiawa general hospital  when i got back a few hours ago, it occured to me that i'm deaf in one ear. i can't remember hitting my head, but i'm wondering whether i should go back and get it checked out. maybe it's just full of sand or something????

i'm still having the BEST time over here. I was supposed to be going to another island on friday, but i've changed my mind now this hurricane is on it's way.

hope everyone else is enjoying their summer wherever you are!

That's our girl we have come to know. :)

Seriously, it sounds so great over there. I can't wait to go one day. Keep the stoke.

Well looks like you missed the hurricane, just skirted the southern tip of the Big Island. And just a couple of days earlier they had a 5.3 earthquake. I'm still wondering when we'll get our next quake here.
Glad to hear your enjoying yourself, I wish I were there, but circumstances conspired against it, will be in Hawaii sometime around christmas though (fingers crossed).

the hurricane hit part of the big island and seemed to skirt away a little. it's been a bit windy, but nothing really bad. i was so scared about being in the middle of a hurricane I went over to josh's and stayed there till the news said it would miss us! was hoping it might generate some decent waves, but it was only about 1-2ft at waikiki this morning. i didn't go in as my toe is still very sore! I'm worried it might dislocate again

hoping to meet up with Hawaiisucks on Saturday. Perhaps I should warn him that I'm going sky diving on Friday?!!! It's all Josh's fault. I said I'd never do it, it's FAR too dangerous, but he's not stopped going on about how amazing it is, so I'm going to see for myself!

I still can't believe I surfed pipe :D it's amazing, but I know it's not like really surfing it in the winter!!! You wont get me doing that in a hurry (or at all!) I've been cut up so badly on coral that it's really made me wary of surfing over here. I'm looking forward to getting back to sandy beaches in England! (even though I really don't want to leave!)
