Man rescued from 'surfboard raft'

Postby surf patrol » Thu Aug 09, 2007 5:51 am

Some people huh

A man has been rescued after trying to travel from Cornwall to the Isles of Scilly on a raft made up of surfboards.

The Sennen Cove lifeboats were launched on Wednesday morning after a fishing boat reported seeing the raft half-way between Land's End and Longships.

The raft was made up of surfboards that were joined together.

An RNLI spokesman said the man was in a "perilous situation" as sea conditions were deteriorating. He was rescued and brought safety at Sennen Cove.

He was not reported to be injured.
