i went to the beach today with my cousin... (first time surfing)
and it was harder than i thought.. after paddling around for about an hour.. i thought i was going to die... and there were too many people for me to even try to ride a wave.. because im scared ill crash or get in the way. .. im only 14 though weighing around 123 using a 6'7'' board.. should i get lessons? or can i just self learn? or any suggestions of somewhere near Redondo Beach that don't have that many surfers at 6 A.M. ? or somewhere where the waves are mellow..

Check out the surf shops near the beach, if they don't offer lessons, they can guide you in the right direction to find lessons. One of the main reasons for lessons, especially in crowded beach areas is that you have an instructor who is trained in lifesaving (at least in CA they are and if they aren't, don't go with them) and they will be able to guide you and share their knowledge of the break and try to help you stay out of trouble (ie not running into anyone).
