the latest Harry Potter book... is anyone bothered?

I know Terry Pratchett is a big name out there. I have got one of his books (the colour of magic or something like that) but found it soo difficult to read. Should I try another one of his books or just give up on him? any recommendations?

Im moving out of the fantasy book phase but sure I will revisit it again soon. Currently reading 'The Great Philosophers' for something a little different, I like to mix fiction and non fiction a lot

For an intro to Pratchett's Discworld, I'd probably go for Guards! Guards! or Wyrd Sisters. Very accessible and much easier than Color of Magic. Once you've got onto Pratchett's vibe, go back and read the rest. The only thing I'd say is, do a couple at a time, then read somethinig else. He does get a bit stodgy in too big a chunk.

My sister and brother are nuts about Terry Pratchett, which is why our cat is called Mustrum.

I've read masquerade and mort, which were pretty good, I started reading men at arms, but i can't remember where i've left it.

I have read all of Rob Grant's books, and just finished his latest one called FAT. Reaon i got into them was when i read the red dwarf books, which are the only books that have ever made me laugh out loud.

I've only read Red Dwarf of his but that was brilliant. I read them ages ago and forgot so might just try some of his other books. Nice one .

Or if you want a really easy introduction to Pratchett's style of writing, try The Amazing Maurice, it's an easy and quick read (it's for "young adults") but clever and funny at the same time.

ok, am taking my neice to the library tomorrow after swimming and the park....armed with a very long list of Terry Pratchett books, may even try some Rob Grant.
