the heavens have opened

Postby thaya » Fri Jul 20, 2007 10:23 am

us southerners haven't experienced too much of the recent floods... till today.

the building I'm in at work has flooded in 2hrs. We're all trapped on the top floor and not allowed to move.

Wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't stuck with a loads of kids and without any food or water.

Gotta go sort out the little ones who are screaming right now...

Jeeze!!

How long have you been trapped for?

A day? Two days? A week?

Oh wait, it's lunchtime......

 what a day  the local radio said almost 4inches of rain fell this morning alone! We had to wait for the water to get pumped away. the younger kids were crying thinking they were going to be stuck there all weekend but all the staff were more concerned with what we were going to do for lunch  it was absolute chaos. at least we didn't have to teach proper lessons. i'm exhausted now and i've got such a busy weekend trying to get ready for hawaii. gradually ticking things off my list. only got about 15things left to do now!

So yeah I was off to York on friday right...

Well... it took 17 HOURS!!!!

set off at 7pm hit the traffic at 9:30 near Glouster.. the M5 was flooded and closed from juction 11-5... too late for me and the other 1000's of drivers who where stuck there for 5 hours untill it subsided.

Was quite surreal sleeping in the fast lane!!! but a hell of a long time..

also someone gave birth!!!!
