Roger Cooper & ebay

Hi all,

Was just wondering are the mini mals roger cooper sells on ebay worth the hassle?!

3 times ive been outbid on the 7'6 in the dying hours! i know the nature of the beast with ebay but going from 4 bid history to 15 in 2hrs is steep!

RANT! RANT! RANT!

So what im asking really is does anyone recommend these boards or should i just buy a board straight from a shop and save some heart ache but loose a good deal?

I've been wondering the same thing. I tried sniping myself, but it just went crazy in the dying seconds.

With sinping you have to decide your top dollar and put that in. And don't be sad if you get outbid

always keep your top bid in mind and never go over it. People get carried away with bidding.

roger cooper is a really good shaper in south wales, the boards he sells on ebay are going a lot cheaper than if you got it new direct from his shop, and they are really nice boards

My mates got a Roger Cooper he got on ebay a couple of years ago, it's really nice and was better and cheaper than the crap minimals we all had.

I'd say it is worth it.

If you've tried a few times to get something off ebay and always been out bid the only way to go is to snipe, (though chances are you're being out bid cos other people are using snipers).

Is sniping just waiting till the end and bidding small amounts over the current highest bid till you get it or is it some sort of program out there?

try Craigslist instead of Ebay. I find it much easier to find what you are looking for, and much quicker too. Also much better deals to be found.

Sniping is putting in your bid within the last 60 seconds... Preferably the last 15 seconds.

You can easily do it yourself.

Or you can use a sniping service like Gixen.com

Or if like me your computer is so full of porn......erm I mean pictures of Mountains and kittens.....and runs so slow it's lucky if I get my bid in in the last hour!

I usually use a free to download program, I can remember what it's called (try "free auction snipe" in google).

The beauty of Gixen is that it's a free online service. You don't have to worry about your puter crashing or running slow or loosing your net connection or anything like that.

You set it up. The server does the work.

Keep trying! I've got a Roger Cooper board and it's great.

If you like the standard graphics on the ebay boards, you'll save £80-100 on his factory price.

The cooper boards do look smart, but it is driving me mad getting out bid so near the end!

thought id won one night and the bid history went from 4 to 15 in seconds!

I dont like the sound of the sniper programs, as from what ive read on it you have to give them your ebay name and password! so they bid on your behalf in the last seconds.

they say they delete it after the auction but i dont quite trust that

the auction sniper is very good, its buy far the easiest way to win anything off ebay. As long as no one else puts a higher bid on it than you, you've won. my brother and dad use them all the time on my behalf and their own, and have never had any problems with them at all. deffo recommend them

I have won literally dozens of auctions with Gixen.

And never had a security issue... And I can assure you I check very carefully. So I vouch for them.

Some of the paid sniping services don't need your password, etc. You set them up with an eBay token. That's you giving the service it's own separate "code" to act as your agent. And eBay logs everything they do as acting on your behalf.

i got my roger cooper board off ebay a couple of years ago and like you the bidding went crazy in the final seconds but luckily he gave me a second chance offer. either way though they're definatly worth it, really nice boards, well made and ride perfectly....go for it..but just have a little patience
