"Choko" (not spelled right) location on Tahiti?

Postby barefooter » Wed Sep 15, 2004 11:45 pm

I was watching the Science Channel and they had a segment on "Thrill Seekers." They interviewed a surfer who talked about a location that sounded like "Choko." Does that ring a bell with anyone?

CLUES THAT MIGHT HELP YOU HELP ME IDENTIFY THIS LOCATION:
(1)The surfer said the waves were not the highest, but they were very, very "thick" and very powerful.

(2)It appeared that the surfers were laying on their surf boards instead of standing.

(3)There was more than ample damger under the waves. Rocks, etc.

(2)One more clue might help you help me. Great Whites and another species of sharks frequent the location he was talking about.

If anyone can correct "Choko" for me and tell me the name of the location he was referring to, I would appreciate it.

Hi barefooter, welcome to Surfing Waves.

Could it be Teahupoo they were on about?
