SO let me get this straight hag? You are trying to justify your obscene behavior in the water to a bunch of 'fat people behind desks in England that dont really surf'........

Sounds like you are off to a good start. God I hope I dont run into retards like you when i move to OZ later this year. Though I am sure I will. Surfing is supposed to be a really relaxed and chill sport. Not one of agression, and jockying for waves as to block other people from catching waves so you can increase your wave count.

I think you need to grow up. You are quite immature. I know that violence and aggression can solve alot(I am in the infantry), but there is a time and a place for that. If someone decides that they are going to be juvinile enought that they need to drop in on me. I will tell them not to. Not tell them off and punch them or whatever. If they do it again, then i have a few more workds with them. It is all about escalation of force, not going straight to punching them in the face.

All you aussies(well some atelast), need to unwind. Where I surf(great lakes in Canada). There is never anything like this. Someone drops in on you, and you will always get a sincere appology about it. I geuse we are just a little bit more gratefull for the waves we have. You have how many rideable days of world class swell? We get about a 2 month period where it is big and powerfull, the rest is knee high slop.

I"ll always give right of way altough occassionally do drop in by accident but there"s a fair few people out there who think there the xxxxx and have more right than the masses.
The way I see it is this if somebody gets aggressive with me in the water then there gonna get it back but in three years i"ve been surfing I"ve only had two arguments .

I'm quite lucky in some respects, i hardly ever surf on a weekend, so crowds are not quite such a problem for me.

People dropping in happens, and there are times i've said for flesh sakes. One guy i surf with a lot probably spoilt what would have been the best wave i would have scored to date, well overhead and hollow, if he hadn't been a friend i think i may have had words.

One thing i hate is letting waves go to people paddling for a wave who then don't catch it, but you soon realise they aint ever going to catch one and paddle for it anyway.

That issue was closed down pretty quick and respected by all members unlike MSW. I lurk on MSW because the aforementioned arguments can be pretty entertaining but thats it.....would never bother posting - couldnt ever hope to be 'enlightened' like I am sometimes on here.

You are just stupid fat people behind desks in England.

No. I'm a stupid fat person behind a desk in New York, thank you very much.

Passion doesn't have to translate into rage, though. Having true passion, you could transcend through rage into peace and revel in that fact that bad karma will get that xxxxx in the end.

Oh, i know it will be a little intense. Though I will be living with some family friends that live in Sydney for a little while atleast. He has been surfing his whole like(about 15 of those in Sydney). So he said he has a handle on where to go so it wont be super bad for me(i hope). I am just going to go, do my thing, be polite, and hope that people will be as polite back. I am just the kind of person that looks for he good in people generaly.

One thing that really helps in Oz, is when you paddle into the line-up, shout "G'day, me Ozzie mates! "

You're sure to make loads of new friends 8)

but if you surf like in your avatar (is that you?) and you have local friends, you'll be fine!
