Thanks for all the input. I really appreciate it! I think i'm going to go with the lock with the loop on it so i can attach it to the cars frame. It looks like i can stick some velcro on it and tuck it away while still attached to the car, so hopefully this will work.

Dont hide it anywhere near your car. I once forgot my non-electronic key and so hid the electronic one in the exhaust pipe of my car - lasted about 20 paranoid filled minutes in the water before going to check that my car was still there and then went home. Everything was in my car so if it was stolen it would have been a long stroll home in a wetsuit on a cold winters day - even though I was local - no thanks!!! Surf was pretty good that day too![]()
If you only have a central locking/electric key....sod it, get it wet and break it. I would rather go without central locking than without a car!!

Best advice is to take it out with you. I don't have electronic keys, so it's easy for me. I just tie it to the string included in almost all boardshort pockets. If it's winter time, and I have a wet-suit on, I use the key pocket. Or try your leash. A lot of leashes have a key pocket on them. Or try the necklace idea, I like that one, might trey it sometime myself. Although I have not had a problem with the pocket string, and wet-suit key pocket.

Your wetsuit has a key pocket? Where'd you get that?
Can I get a key pocket to attach to the leash I have now?
