Red-x and probox. Red-x cause it's a gfreat system, probox because of the huge fin range. Futures are a pain as you have to fit them before glassing.

Tried 3 systems:-
FCS-many boards
Power Drive-Maurice Cole
Fkn wierd Beach Beat similar but different to FCS system whose name i forget!

Prefer FCS due to more choice of fins and structurally no worse than the others, although the Power Drive system allowed forward/backward movement of about 20mm.

FCS just for the range.

Futures seem ok too, but not had a board fitted with them, but know a few who swear by them.

Speed Fins pain in the ass.

I think the advantage FCS has over the rest is quick simple repairs too. Pull a plug and its a straight forward repair job.

well, fcs have a wide range of fins, speedfins are very quick to remove and fit, but then futures are very strong (usually). so they all have their advantages. but, my fave would have to be fcs

surely you must be fitting them in wrong? all the speedfin boards i've used i've never had a problem with, apart from ripping the fin out of the board (all my fault, surfing a shallow reef.

FCS has the range & technology but carbon fibre fins don't snap at the plugs, they rip the xxxxx out of your board! A few of the fins are a bit gimicky.

Speedfins one of the guys in the shop had them in a board from OZ, 1 fell out and they were a complete bitch to get replacements.

Future Fins have a good range, (check their site) but the box is just set in the foam and is prone to ripping out. The FCS system at least attaches the plug to the deck - thats why u can see little circles in the glass.

Lock Box (not on the survey?). Easy to get hold of do some really nice twinnie & quad sets. Bit pricey though. I wouldn't notice the difference, but I'm sure slater or Parko or someone would be able to detect the drag caused by the big screw sticking out.

Fin system B (used by Beach Beat a few times) basically a 3 plug fcs setup.

Theres loads more, but I don't know a whole load about them. Notice how a lot of Pros are riding glassed in fins again?

All the pros are riding glassed in cause they get there boards for nowt.

Guy last week in Chile. i forget who, lost all three fins on the reef. New board please, expensive repair for us.

FCS are deffo the easiest to repair if you pull a plug, and part of the design is so that the fin breaks before the plug, supposedly.

I have futures on 3 of my boards, and love them. There is a great selection of fins from Future. I have not tried FCS, but they seem good also.

Our shaper recommended Future fin set ups for Marko EPS boards, but I have FCS on all my fiberglass boards. Both have worked fine although the FCS sometimes get loose and need to be tightened before paddling out.

Who surfs a reef THAT shallow, common, if you fall you are on the rocks alredy, it is like falling on thick hard concrete with the force of niagra falls.
