Where to surf/stay in North Morocco next week?!

Hi,
I'm new to this forum (and surfing) but I'm struggling to find some info so thought someone might be able to help. A group of us are heading to Morocco next week for a fortnight. We're planning on travelling up from Casablanca to Tangiers over about a week while we're there and want to stop for some surf on the way. We're all pretty new to the sport but want to grab a few lessons and hire some kit. Anyone got any experience of good spots with decent accomodation? Plage Mehdya seems like a good place..??
Any advice would be appreciated.

The Current issue of Carve magazine has a freebie copy of Surfgirl with it. That has a good article on accomodation and breaks in Morocco.
