Fiji, Lau group ok for beginner/intermediate???

My friends are taking a boat out to surf Lau group and I would like to go with them.

I'm uncertain of the conditions out there, can you guys tell me if it will be ok for me....I've been surfing a couple of years, but only beachies and I'm not that good!

I don't want to waste their time or mine if it's too serious for me.

Trip is in Aug.

never been there my self, but seen pics and vids and looks like there's some serious gnarly waves over there, but look it up on the internet, where your going and stuff
