Type of wetsuit?

Postby markbanin » Mon Jun 25, 2007 1:08 am

Hi

I'm going to be doing some body-surfing/surfing in Sardinia from 5th July to 10th. It seems the surface water temp will be about 22c.

Just wondered what kind of wetsuit you'd recommend?

Ps I tend to feel the cold more than most!

Thanks

Mark

I'm going to Sardinia.

I thought it was warm until I saw all the surfers in the pictures wearing wetsuits!

I had a look at some charts here on the net and they suggest to wear a short or full wetsuit for that temp.

VERY unlikely to be any swell in Sardinia in July :?

But if there is, you wont need a full suit - with a water temp of 22C and an air temp of, say, 25C+ you'll be able to get away with a shortie, or probably just a pair of boardshorts.

Almost certainly the reason you saw pictures of surfers in wetsuit is that it was mid-winter, the only time Sardinia is likely to get half-decent surf.

but say there is surf for you, i doubt you'll need a wetie anyway, boardies and a rash vest should do you fine for a couple of hours

I surfed Sardinia in July about 3yrs ago. No need for a wettie, boardies all the way, shorty at the most.
