Surfed a new spot called piscina this morning at Canary Islands.
I been out there before but it was too big and too scarey. It was just about head height today and got some wicked waves.

First hour it was good, just me and four friends, but then my arms started to really tire out, and I didn't have the strength to paddle for anything much. I need more stamina, and I struggled to read the waves as well as I do at my regular spot, but overall it was well good.

I got rubbered up in a 5/4, boots, gloves, hat, and got in at New Brighton yesterday, 2 other guys out, wall to wall blue sky, snow on the hills, and a lovely combo swell, offshore winds, throwing up some great 3 to 4 foot A-Frames.

Best surf I've had in ages. Damn cold though. 5 degree air temps and 8 degree water temps, and it felt a lot colder in the wind.

I got in again today, loads warmer than yesterday - 16 degrees, bit smaller, but still good.

Here's a few pictures I took off the pier at New Brighton

OMG. That's beautiful. Quality photos dude. I love the way in one photo there's only 6 people in the water but 3 of them are trying to grab the same wave with 20ft of each other.

I wish we had some waves like that over here at the moment. :(

ok let me refrase it, i can find plenty of quite spots but none that hold a decent wave, that gives a decent ride which would be worth surfing.

its diffrent for a sponger anyways you dont care about the lengh of the rides id rather have a decent lengh ride and be able to pull of a few moves.

Its 5 degrees and sleeting today here, probably good waves again but couldnt see ..

It'd be a lot more crowded than that if it was warmer, water temp has to be ~7-8 degrees or so, theres also a lot of peaks to go find elsewhere too.

just got back from a week in Cornwall.

Strange weather.

Surfed most of the obvious places

Fistral - It was firing on wednedsday evening about 6ish, the sun was out the locals seemed to hear the slient surf bongos and all pile out. I had a good few hours out there and then watched some amazing surfing.

pentewan sands - surfed it on tuesday in a storm with two lovely locals, aparently only usually works in winter, still it was a good laugh, if a short wave. I was camped in the campsite that faces the beach so as soon as I saw some other surfers out I suited up and got out there.

Watergate bay - Surfed there in the rain with a polo match going off on the beach (with horses) very random, I am not too much of a fan of watergate bay, it seemed as crowded as fistral with a longer walk to the beach.

Perrenporth (cant spell) - the one with the rocks in the beach, nice waves, absolute xxxxx of a walk to get to them.

I am very happy and now want to move to the sea.

Why does it make you so happy?

Good work, me too i spent last week in Bude. Weather was really wierd but still managed come back really tanned...

Friday was the highlight for us, Sandymouth was firing...shoulder high sets came in one after the other....pretty scary for me but still got stuck in...was only 3 of us out there all day...

Going back to work today has been fooking hard, all i can think about is buying a T4 and spending the summer surfing round Europe...hmmm...
