Am new to this as you can probs tell by the name! but was after some general advice.
i am a complete beginner but have hired before and had no probs popping up on a bic 8'4'' magnum but felt once i was up it felt a bit too big if that makes any sense?!
I have looked on the other forums and had talks with different shapers but my questions are-
1. i am looking to get my first board soon but am confused with size and type, i am currently looking at either a 8'' custom mini mal or a epoxy 7'6 sunride or maybe even a 7'6'' mal. but have been told that a 7'6'' epoxy will be too small for the north east uk waters i will surf although it will be able to hold my weight fine. so a mal is better, BUT! these are probably too fragile for a beginer like myself and probs too big for me if i want to progress! Also the word 'corky' was used when being described what a epoxy is like to surf but have had conflicting advice on this.

This is all confusing the crap out of me

I am 28 yrs, 5'11, 13 1/2 stone and fit
Cheers
Fish
ps. any views on sunride epoxys would be cool to.
