70 is good tempature water. its like around.... lessee... 70 -32*1.8 is... about 22 degrees C

It is nice. Although there is a huge variation in water temperature from North to South Island. Up here in the upper North Island, Water varies from 14degrees celcium in winter to 24 in high summer.
Down in the Lower South Island it is 9-10 in winter & only 12 degrees in high summer.

Quite alot like California I think?
