I knew it was windy today, but I had no idea it was that windy!

check out this coal bulk carrier just north of Newcastle (about 100km north of Sydney)!

Latest update: the ship is still stuck on the beach, lots of towns are flooded, and 11 people dead.

Here are some photos I took in the region:

11 people dead, man that's harsh.

Like the pics though, the ship looks huge.

the rain mainly fell on the coast and not much fell into the catchment area or farms, where we need it most.

drought is still on. Sydney is still on "level 3" water restrictions - that means we cant wash our cars with a hose (only a bucket) or water the garden... damn... shame bout that garden....

BTW excellent pics!!!!

UPDATE: there is a hole in the hull.. but there is an 'inner hull' that has not been breached so coal, oil and fuel wont leak into the ocean... they say it will be a while (weeks) before a rescue attempt will be made.

Lucky it didn't happen in the English Channel, the yocals down that way would have had then inner hull open in seconds and be carting the cargo away day and night!

Only kidding friends
