Fairground Ride

Postby northswell » Wed Jun 13, 2007 4:01 pm

I went to the Fair last nite and i went on the best ride i have ever been on (at a travelling fair). It was called the Freak Out and my legs still feel weird now.

You sat in a chair feet dangling, four sets of four seats facing each other in a square, attached to a very long arm above you like a giant pendulem.
You were then flung up an down in a pndulem movement to what was about 220Degrees. At the same time the lower part you were attached too swung around 360 Degrees.

Might go back tonight it was wicked, if not a little scary, what a buzz.

I still like the classics like the spining cage that goes up... can turn yourself upside down and still be pinned to the wall :D

I liked the enclosed one, where you start spinning, then the floor drops away. 8)

I don't trust fairground rides. I don't trust the carnies to put them together safely.

I hate fairground rides. I went to Alton Towers and I dont think I could ever be more scared even if I was about to die! (-boyfriend had a great time though). Even the pirate ship was too much - what a wuss!! and dont get me started on those teacup ride thingys *shudder*

Aw c’mon Sar, the teacups at Alton towers rule!

We stuck 5 reasonably burly guys in one cup once and got it spinning round so fast I thought we were going to go back in time!! :spew:

My neck ached for days after that!!

its not just the Alton Towers ones though. I took my neice to a village fete where and took her onto the teacup rides.....started of nice, then he started spinning us faster, my eyes felt like they were spinning in my head, I gripped the bars a little tighter. "er, Hi, can you not spin so fast, i dont think she likes it, go easy mate, she is only 5" "sure its you're neice or you that wants me to slow down  "

Yeah yeah yeah..that's it, the Rotor.

I used to try and stand in the middle by the cone thing, until the centrifugal force got too strong....or do a handstand against the wall.

ahh...much fun :D
