Agin even that will barly manafest dude.. sorry!

Don't be sorry!! You keep playing it down and I'll carry on surfing empty breaks.........

1-2ft, glassy, lovely.........

More of the same (or maybe not - depends who you believe) for later in the week...........

BTW - Hell's Mouth was like this ......... (not that I went - it's an extra hour from me and I'm not that keen on the place...)

Image

'just about rideable' or 'waist high with the odd one a bit bigger' - again, take your pick..........

PW - behave!!! You can make of 'spout's pearls' what you will, but the photos show the size pretty well (if you know the break, so have an idea of scale).....

Plus if it was 1-2ft on Anglesey, then chances are his 'waist height' estimate was just about correct - or are you saying that your prediction from 300 miles away is better than the report of people who actually saw the swell with their own eyes??

Did you actually used to 'live there' - or just go to Uni at Bangor?? It does make me wonder, as you don't seem to give the place any credit for being able to hold a wave ....... No-one is saying it's the North Shore, but it can provide a good day's surfing - surely that's what it's about??

Or do you just have a need to be 'right'??? I have noticed your username on just about every surf forum there is and you do seem to like to preach on occasion...........

Gixer - don't read too much into MSW or 'Spout's Pearls' - get to know the breaks and where to get 'pointers' from, then make up your own mind. If you want a REAL heads up, there's a certain webcam which, whilst not even pointing at the break I usually surf, tells me far more than any prediction site.......

For sure, you won't be right 100% of the time (I've had a one or two wasted trips), but local knowledge will ALWAYS hold the sway over predictions........

Give Hell's Mouth a go if you're close enough, it just isn't my cup of tea because it tends to dump a fair bit, but don't discount Anglesey because I've had some great sessions there (admittedly, that's because I longboard)

Yep I went to Bangor and then lived in Menai bridge. So whats that got to do with the price of fish?!

So back to the point... I guess I'll give up on giving out usefull advice. I iknow how he area works I spent f00king ages tracin ever swell hat came up and every time I was on the case. never a dissapontment. Just trying t save you one. but then if you like barly a ft of phat w@nk then fair play.

Any mind you keep your mouth closed when surfin Rhyos and Broard... some nasty stuff comming out of the rivers there. When ever I hit up the isle is was at some propper breaks say no more.  Now they pick up swell....

Just seems a bit harsh to be slating/ having a dig at me when I'm trying to help.

Hang on - who slating who?? You aren't the only person who 'knows' Anglesey and whilst I was actually THERE and riding (albeit small, but still fun) waves, you're saying that there'll only be ankle biters rolling onto the sand.......

That was Broad - and yes, there are PLENTY of other little spots, but I happen to like the break(s) there - and contrary to myth, it picks up the SW swell as good as anywhere that isn't listed, especially for a longboarder. If you want shorter rides but more hollow waves, then obviously there are better places - and if the swell moves due S or has any northerly in it, then, again, it's a different matter......

As a matter of fact, and perhaps as a sideline, the ONLY time when Anglesey in general isn't that enjoyable to visit is when it's full of uni bods - acting like 'locals' and trying to control every peak - either on surfboards on in bloody goat boats........and that includes supposed 'secret spots' that they ALL seem to know about!!!

Anyway, useful advice is fine if it's accurate, but there's no point in just telling people that somewhere's going to be flat just because it doesn't suit you on a sponge. It would be like me saying Hells Mouth is crap, just because I don't happen to like the place, or that Saunton was pants just because I prefer left handers.......

Gixer - listen mate, you live local enough, so just get yourself along to as many breaks as you can as often as you can and make a note of what works in what conditions - also making a note of what the various surf forecasts say. That way, you've got a chance of making a far more accurate prediction. There are a number of little bays and beaches that aren't listed - just get yourself an OS map and try to figure a few out and then go and see what the access is like. You can get a good idea of the facing from the map, so it'll give you a good indication of what swell they pick up - half the fun is finding these places, the rest is knowing that they'll be less crowded........well, unless it's term time!!

Normally at this point, I'd give an opinion, but as 'Swell Prediction (North Wales)' has turned into such a contentious issue recently, I dont think I will....

East Coast is starting to show now, building to a decent size tomorrow but with the wind on it, Friday should be ok as the winds swing southerly, small wave left for Saturday.

Saturday - what small swell there is could be blown flat - plus the period is really too short.......

Next possible day looks like next Wednesday - but it's too far ahead to be sure.......

Edited because I'm not 100% sure whether I detect sarcasm or not...........

We're a new company, but we're gradually doing better and better, selling other people's ideas at the moment. But our first 'own' product is currently under production and should be ready for market within the next month.......
