East Coast flatness

Postby nsidla » Fri Jun 08, 2007 6:40 pm

Dude it's been flat here in RI for basically the last two weeks, WTF.

How can one surf without waves? If God wants to punish someone punish the Corporations polluting the ocean, not us surfers. There's no swell to speak of. It's been ankle-knee high backround (backround meaning nearly invisible swell that shows itself once every 7 hours or so for 20 minutes and then goes away) for two weeks and it isn't looking any better this week. I'm actually beginning to pray for swell for about 20 minutes every night before I go to bed  .

Flat flat flat here too for the last 3 days. I was in Rodanth, NC this past weekend and had some fun waist high stuff. Surf Line is saying nothing till middle of next week here. I am so bummed. The temp. is hot and the water temp is 76.

we had great waves because of the tropical storm on sunday, i havent surfed since then. went to st. augustine monday and tuesday, didnt even get my board out of the bag.

its frustrating, but im gonna buy a skimboard tomorrow so i can stay sane. im gonna have to move somewhere with more consistent waves

Top pic only works on an easterly, so maybe 4 times max a year, Second pic loads. Best reefs in the UK eastside, but the secon dis a sandbar 8) best session i've had this year. Well most fun.

I reckon on average 10 days surf a month.

Hey guys, it isn't like this doesn't happen every year at this time. I suggest you do what I do. Swim laps at a community pool (3) times a week, lift weights and ride a 1/2 pipe. That way when a swell does arrive your not like some cow on ice.

Nice pics North Swell, I love the one with the tanker in the backround. I recently picked myself up a Gravity Mini Classic and an Element Standard so I can keep riding boards when I'm not in the water, so I guess I can't complain that much, only thing is it's been raining just enought today to keep the roads wet  :x .

That top wave could be split into thirds!

A third down to essex sucks..

A third up to me..

And you could keep a third and we'd all be happy!

Come on northswell don't be a grump we're all east coasters here!
