On the first go. Stood up for about a minute.

It was on a softboard. On the sand.

Since then... probably never

Okay, okay, now that you mention it, maybe it wasn't very long at all. But I did get to the beach the first day. Really  However, having arrived at said beach, I then realized the first wicked and evil truth.... you then have to paddle ALL THE WAY back out again. Wish I had bailed a little earlier on that ride.

I have gone for a total of 5 surfing sessions. First two were on a buddy's 9'0 longboard, and the rest were on my 7'6" funboard. I am 5'8", and 170lbs.

In the first two longboard sessions, I was able to do a knee-up, for lack of a better term, (while holding onto rails) and stand for a max of 2 seconds. Terrible terrible form, I know.....

After I discovered "the stoke" and decided to continue surfing, I bought one of those Balance360 boards (this is not a solicited plug I swear), and I have used it everyday since then. In the last 3 sessions, I was able to do my yucky knee-up, and stand up for a max of 1.5 seconds on my funboard.

If I were to actually get my pop-up form correct, I feel that I would be able to stand for a lot longer. My feet positioning and stance is all messed up at the moment. I'm still trying to get used to my funboard.

:)

it's totally impossible to get a 15 sec ride where I surf... maybe at the point, on a good day, with the swell exactly right...

Also, I'm lazy, and only ride the good bit of the wave, and bail when the wave is getting weak at the sides of the bank. Less time to paddle out for the next wave.

I caught a good 15 / 20 second ride yesterday down Saunton.

I had to pump the wave alittle and lower myself to paddle with my hand towards the end but it was one of the best rides ive ever had! :D

I got off the wave totally buzzing, it was great lol

of course! buddies forever

moving in 2 weeks! really excited... can't wait to be close to the beach, even if it is flat most of the time and has an awful shoredump when there's a bit of a wave!!!

you'll be able to crash over if you want and then do a whole weekend surfing round my way (when there's a swell!)

looking forward to new adventures... :D

it took me about 2 months of riding a shortboard (6'2, 18½ and 2¼) before i could stand up for about 4 seconds, and now i can only stand up for about 8 seconds max before something happens (someone gets in the way, i fall, etc)
