Im landing in Bali and probally will just get into a hostel.

What do you mean by "A family on the peninsula would be tops". Do you mean that I should stay w/ a family?

What I am suggesting is that you might wish to homestay with a Balinese family on the Bukit Peninsula or Nusa Dua.

This will give you good accomodation at a good price, the money you spend will make a real difference to real people and you will get to experience the real Balinese culture. If you are careful in selecting who you stay with you will be safer from anti-western extreemists than in hotels, etx and your hosts will be enthusiastic to show you less well known surf spots (i.e., uncrowded indo surf).

Anyway, just my 2c. YMMV.

+homestay +bali

:D

It'll take a bit of research to make sure you are happy with the location and family. Alternatively there are several agencies that can do some of the legwork for you (same list).

Let us know what you decide and how you go!
