I don't know of any myself because I'm not from around that area, but here's a tip about surfers.

If a surfer knows of a good spot to surf they won't tell anyone about it (especially on the internet) because they don't really want anyone else showing up.

I am more than happy to share info about breaks (except secret spots.) with anyone how shows a willingness to learn and has some RESPECT.

Remember this word and you may get along with the surf community.

Not sure where in the West Midlands you are but there are places closer, like the Rev said try MSW.

The East Coast is closer than the SW for some in the West Midlands, but you don't want to go there its always shite, small crappy waves, cold seas, and rubbish weather.

The Welsh coasts are also a feasable option. Again you need to know what makes the areas work.

The Stromrider guide is always a good start for people. and has general info on how to interpate swell data. Its going to take time and don't expect to be spoonfed by anyone.
