Looking into smaller boards

Just wondering if anyone on here has ever ridden a 7S Super Fish XL...I'm mainly interested in the transition to that board from a longboard (currently using a 9'6"). I'm 6'0 180 lbs, and the board I'm looking at measures 7'3", 22" wide and 3" thick (it's got thinner rails and has a step deck so I guess it's 3" in the center part of the board). I'm not going to be buying until probably the end of summer, just doing some research at this point.
