Futures Fin System - Advice Please

Postby sinistapenguin » Tue May 22, 2007 4:00 pm

Hi All

My brother in law and I were out at the weekend in Putts & Woolacombe, when we got out, he has snapped off his centre fin.

He's a beginner, so still riding white water, he's about 5'10 and fairly slim build. He's got a 7'10x22x3 mini-mal.

I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on the following:

1. Where's a good place to get Futures Fins from (Seabase looked quite good)
2. What size/ shape/ model no. do you think he should get?

Cheers in advance

1. SeaBase is 'The' place to get them in the UK. If you're in the area, then Second Skin in Braunton stock them too.

3. Go with the F5's. They work pretty well on larger boards. If he's a proper lightweight, then the F4 might be recommended - but that wont make a great deal of difference unless he can really rip. The F5's result in a pretty solid ride on a big board, but not too solid.

Hope that helps.
