ive got 2 boards....a "firebird" popout thing and a 6" 10 thruster shaped by a mate of mine(but brought second hand) ive surfed in the past and been in a few times recentlly. should i perservere with the popout or go for it ion the thruster....im 6ft 14st ish :oops:

good answer......... :D ive only used the popout so far cos i thought it would be better in smaller waves......i think ill just try the thruster out as well :D

Can you do a bottom turn and then ride back up the wave and kick off the lip, if so try the thruster. Otherwise i would stick with the mal. :)

yep,i can bottom turn and ride back up the wave...cant kick off the lip yet though :P

another question....are the "bic" boards any lighter/better than my popout?

oh,ok thanks...you've saved me some cash there i think :D
what im told is that the surf conditions are raelly great here a mal would be a good thing to have in my collection....would something like an o'shea mal or similar be any good.the reason i ask is cos when i used to surf i had a really good board(zuma jay 7"ish) and i dropped to a wave graffiti 6" and hated it.....could hardlly ever catch a wave with it.so id rather have a board i can ride han one which ust looks good...even if that means having two :D

well if u can turn and ride the green face then theres really not a lot of point getting a bic. dont bother buying a new board either if you're planning on progressing donwards in size. look for a used minimal or funboard to progress on. you will find it much easier than a shortboard. also if you dont want to keep it when you move on minimals hold value well as theyre so popular.
