My excersise routine depends entirely on what else i have on at the time, at the moment, all i have time for at the moment is an hour in the gym 4-5 times a week. I could quite happily excerise all day everyday but uni just wont let me...

I want to drop a dress size, its something that happens naturally when i'm really active e.g. on my summer holidays in NZ but sitting on your bum revising doesnt do much for the metabolism....

Well lets see how my week goes right now.

Sunday-Long run(about an hour right now, going steadily up to 2.5hrs in about 2 months) followed imediatly by a 1.5hr bike
Monday-Longer run(right now about 14km hilly route).
Tuesday- 5km run in the morning(about 0630), then a 15km road Time Trial(every fourth TT is followed by a timed 3km run)
Wednesday- Mountain bike race series(about 15km single track)
Thursday- Same as wednesday, different location/series
Friday-Off day/do fun stuff, like baseball, ultimate frisbee, ect.
Saturday- Long road ride, about 6-7hours. I am up to just shy of about 190km in that one.

When I feel like it I do core workouts before I go to bed. I keep wanting to get into yoga, just never can find the time. This is just my training week. When I have races comming up, it will change, like in 2 weeks I am solo'ing an 8 hour MTB race, so i will get out for a ride on wednesday, then nothing until the race on sunday. I would love to get in swimming again, but at this point, it is silly to pay to go to a pool when I should be able to get out into the open water in about 2-3 weeks depending on how fast the water warms up.

This is all leading up to my goal race in November(Ironman Florida- 4km swim/180km bike/ 42km run).

I would say that if you do alot of sitting around for school and stuff. Get out for two workouts a day. It will keep your metabolism running fast all the time. I get out when I can for a wake up run between 3-5km. It is fast, like 15-25 minutes, but I feel great all day.

Its not usually this sedentry its for the next 4 weeks or so until my finals are finished. Anyways i dont have time to do more excersise, i'm at the gym for 8 (cant go earlier as its peak time and 3 times more expensive) then in the library from 9.30 - 5.00 then home for dinner and then straight back to the library till it shuts at 10.

The job i have lined up for the summer is much more active though which i'm looking forward too. :D

Its not that hard to train that much. You just need to get into it. Like was said earlier, you have a hard time going out at first, after about a month of it, you feel bad if you dont go. This is also the reason some of my friends call me an old man. They go out drinking every weekend, sometimes I am asleep by 10, cus I will have to be up at 7 for a day of training....Man, I was just figuring it out, I am at about 15 hours of working out a week right now....thats not to shabby i suppose.

Libs, go for a run outside, alot cheaper then paying to go to a gym.

I just finished writting the lesson plan for the class on nutrition i am teaching for my unit. In 2004, the state of Ohio, spent close to 500mill on state paid operations made nessesary due to extreeme obesity.....I love how fat people are such a bane on my tax dollars.....North America is such a lazy place, everyone drives everywhere...My friends get mad if I dont drive to get them(like 10 blocks away). Lazy sods.

Anywho, rant over. If anyone has any questions about fitness, and to a smaller extent nutrition, PM me. I figure that being a competitive athelete since I was 7 might be put to use some how.

Its not that I dont enjoy running - I HATE it!! I dont seem to mind swimming too much (its a very nice way to start the day) and love rock climbing which I have just started and maybe going for a mission on the bike all day and stuff like that.

Ive heard if you just find your pace for running it wont be so bad - I cant find it. Ive tried humming the Rocky theme tune to keep me going and everything but still dont seem to be able to stick with it - the shin splints didnt help either  Once, I made myself go to the gym and was hating it so much I began crying - I was under a lot of pressure at the time but I think the gym tipped me over the edge!

BUT I have just had a meeting with my manager at youth club who is going to put me on training so I can run outdoor activities and D of E expeditions and all sorts of great stuff. Climbing up a mountain (or big hill) seems better to the gym to me!! :D

Hopefully within a couple of years I'll be canoeing, kayaking (not in the line up obviously  ) rock climbing, hiking etc etc for a job!!! :D I currently have a stresful job in an office for a large bank that doesnt pay aswel as it should (aka a corporate monkey) so this is GREAT news!! :D :D :D

I have only recently started to enjoy running, though I have been doing it for along time. I race in alot of triathlons, so running is a part of that so I just did it...Now I run with my ipod, and just rock out to the music. It has taken me about 2 years of building up my music collection, but now it is really good, and I can run for hours and be happy about it.

Shin splints, when I get them, I just walk the rest of the way. I dont push a run if I am hurting, shin splints go away eventually, so there is no reason to run when it hurts.

Libs, about running in the city, I was reading an article about city runners the other day, they tend to be sick alot because they breath in so much more poluted air then someone just walking/driving everywhere.

Shitty, I have a DVT in my right shoulder(aka a blood clot), so its pretty gay. I cant scuba dive anymore, until its fixed atleast. I have like $10 000 in equipment sitting at home collecting dust....Though i can appese my apetite for water by surfing and sailing.

Happy for you that your better, I can only imagine what it would be like if I couldnt ride...i would go nuts.
