Hi guys,

i wondered what you all thought of this:

http://www.westcoastsurf.co.uk/cgi-bin/ ... SHEA7BELOW

£279 gets you:

O'SHEA MEGA DEAL! Board comes with FREE BOARD BAG worth (£49.99) - e.g Rhino Explorer or O'Shea Deluxe FREE LEASH and FREE DELIVERY! G

Length: 6'4" Swallow Tail

Max. Width: 21"

Max. Thickness: 2 3/4"

Construction: custom - polyester - 6 ounce top and bottom.

Fin set-up: FCS - Fins are included in the package

I'm currently looking for a board like this and it seems to tick all the boxes. i surf mostly on the south coast, north devon and south wales.

anyone had any experince of this board or know whether it's worth the investment or not?

Hi there page,

I have recently had first hand experience of this particular board and another o'shea board. Not for riding either of them but for repairing the dings on them.
Having fixed them up i can tell you that there glass is quite light especially around the rails. In my opinion they are not very strong boards, however the shapes look fine.

Hope this helps.

Shameless plug here or not? :D
If you want to make sure you get a board that is well made then get on from a local shaper here in the uk. That way you have come back.
The price you've said for that board, bag, fins and leash is a very cheap price. You need to ask why.
Due to their construction all surfboards are vulnerable to dings don't get me wrong but in my opinion and experience of fixing them the cheap foreign imports are worse.
Of course your likely yo have to pay more for a board made here in the uk.
What timescale were you thinking for buying your new board?

I don't know the local hero fish boards specifically but ive heard good things about his shortboards.
Are you looking for the more modern fish like the ohsea in the thread or a more traditional type fish? Also how good's your surfing?

I've got an 0'Shea fish and i've never had a problem. I have sold a couple and have never had a bad report back from them. Although one girl managed to take a huge chunk out of the swallow tail as sh had not listened when i told her to make sure her rail saver was doing what its supposed to.
