In theory no... :?
...BUT...
(that's turning into a habit)

For a "proper" relationship, there's got to be a whole lot of respect between the pair of you. I'd find it hard to completely maintain that respect with someone who'd done a job like that.
(Just to point out, I totally mean girlfriend/partner here. Friends dont get judged nearly as harshly)

It would niggle at the back of my mind, and then turn in into (completely unrelated) arguments. Something similar happened with an ex of mine and while I tried to forget about it, it wasnt happening and it made me realise that we really had no future.

Of course, there's a chance of it being 100% love and being able to forget about it and see them as they are now and for it not to be an issue.

But, sorry, I dont really believe in love like that, thats just Hollywood and Barbara Cartland books...

I dunno there. For me, when I am dating a girl, who she was, isnt what matters to me. It is who she is when I am dating her. I have friends from High school that are strippers. They arnt any different then most other people when we hang out, except for their job. I dont understand the issue with it at all. I know all the problems that there could be with it, I just dont understand how you could judge someone so harshly over a job they had for a year, years ago.

I know a guy that in high school was a huge stoner, and a dealer. He has stopped all together, and is now a pipe fitter making like $200/day. Tigers can change their stripes.

What I think that you need to find out if the end justifies the means. I am not saying do it, or dont, just that it is a personal thing, that you will have to live with. I have done all manner of jobs, and things that I am not exactly proud of, but at the time it needed to be done.

Just my opinion, for what it is worth.

Yup, I agree.
...BUT...
(somebody stop me)
The history of someone does make up who they are today, and while its good to judge them by what you see today, you've only really got what they've been/done/said to guess what they'll be like tomorrow.

Its not a huge thing - Im not hung up on someone's history, but if someone were to say to me (actually this has happened. Twice) 'Im a stripper/nude model' I'd probably be thinking 'okay, this probably isnt the girl for me'. But thats my 'moral checklist' for a partner, Im not saying its the right thing for everyone or even 'right'.

But once you are in a more stable financial situation, would you be able to give up the large amounts of money you will then be used to earning, and go back to being a skint student or graduate again?

I havnt read any of the posts (busy boy at the mo) .. i have many friends in many different areas of the adult entertainments industry .. and none of them would do what they do if they were not happy with doing it ! .. the same as everything in life .. " somedays are good, somedays are bad " no matter what you do for a living 8)

The gurls that i know are not fullfilling any stereotype that most would imagine , they are hard working gurlz with focused goals and with individual levels of acceptance for the downsides of the work they do ... so do what you feel comftable with and if it earns you a heap of cash ... " all good " !!!

If your character is strong and you have no problems with the occasional blind jibe , then go for it darhlin ... " shake that thang "

8) 8)

Pretty much all that I would have said has been said for pro and cons...

so the only thing I can add is this... If you do decide to do it, then do it good it properly.. as in not just strip with a pole...

Sums it up quite well -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnmNT74jXLY

and here just one of many propper dancing demos (practice rooms work safe) --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ue1fwG5yOcU

Im with Sal on this one. I am in a pretty bad financial position also and am trying to think of ways to make more money but then once I am clear of debt I'll just want more money to buy a nicer house in a nicer area and get a full quiver and some new clothes and get some savings and a van......it goes on and on...
I personally dont think stripping is demeaning for women - its the people that pay for it are chumps in my mind. I couldnt do it - I know too many of the aforementioned chumps that go into those places who I wouldnt want to bump (and grind) into :spew: and havent got the confidence/body to do it.

It seems like an ok way to make a quick buck to me so go for it. BUT I think if you're having to ask if it a good idea then perhaps you dont think it is anyway. What have you got to loose vs what have you got to gain! The debt will clear...eventually

Hey Jennie, how's things?

As you know I drive a cab at night and meet a lot of girls who do this kind of job.

A lot of them drink way too much, because the clients are buying them drinks all night and to keep them sober need a little bit of the old Columbian marching powder to keep them going all night.

So............if you're focused on the money, it could be very lucrative...........or it could be the beginning of a slippery slope.

I did meet a girl in Bali a couple of years ago who had made enough money to pay for a year long holiday and then a 3 year course in Uni in Sydney, so I suppose it depends on the person.

jennie said, "Its basically a last resort...there are other jobs around and other ways of making money, i guess at the moment it just seems like a good idea because i see it as a quick fix... "
don't do it as a last resort, do it only because you want to,
why don't you look into spending less, maybe split rent with a roomate, one that works as a bartender, then you can see how it is for you firsthand, oops did i just say that

Hiya Pat...been a while!

Thanks for all the advice and thoughts guys...much appriceiated.

I thought really long and hard about whether i was gonna do this...i carried on working behind the bar in the establishment, talking to the girls and seeing a bit more of what actually goes on.

Last friday once i had finsihed my shift on the bar, i was allowed to work on the floor and stage and see how i got on before making my descion. I worked from 12.30 till 3.30 and got paid £330 for 3 hours work.

Im not really going to go into it but one thing i can say from experiencing those 3 hours is that it is increadibly hard work. The crap that you have to put up with is proportional to the money....

Having tried it now i dont think i could do it for very long but....for those 3 hours work i got paid more than i do in a week. Hopefully after a month i will be able to sort myself out enough to quit. Fingers crossed.

Pix!!!! :D

Honestly sounds like you got on OK for the first go, first time at anything is always the hardest, next time (if you go again) it'll be easier.

Just keep your morals firmly in place and enjoy it if you can.

Would love to earn 100ph waving my bits in peoples faces:D
