Buying a new stick!! Please help.....

Postby Jezza » Wed Apr 18, 2007 11:16 pm

Hey guys,
Im looking to buy a shortboard or something similar, but ive ridden a Mal for the last four years and dont want to make a huge mistake so i thought id seek some advice with the forum.

Ive been looking at a few boards, for example, the "Mark Phipps" 6'10" Mini Gun, 6'10" Rusty Pirahna or a 6'10" Channel Island M13. Ive always favoured a slightly bigger board as im 6'2 and about 12.5 stone, but i just want something a little more fun than my cumbersome 7'2 Bic Mal.

Im a fairly competant intermediate and want to make that step into shortboards without having to wrestle with a stick, if anyone has been through a similar transition or has any thoughts as to the types or specific boards i should be looking at then id be really appreciative of the advice :) .

Cheers guys!!

anywhere from 6'6-6,10' should do fine but dont go for a gun rather stick to a tradtional shortboard.

Got a 7ft O'shea Fat Boy in would be cool but no images as yet.

Flick through the surftech lot http://www.surfcom.co.uk/
can sort something out on those.

Hey Northswell,

Am i right in thinking you can order one of the boards from surfcom for me (subject to availiabilty obviously) and then send it on to me? If so, would you be able to give me a few quotes for boards?
