Bummer

Postby jethrodog » Wed Apr 18, 2007 9:54 pm

Just sold my bike, had to for moving 'cause I can't take it with me. Delivered to the buyer yesterday. Bummer. I'm bike-less. Or is that biked-impaired. Whatever it is I'm shite outta luck for riding for the next 3 months.

Nice bike...that is a bummer :( . Believe me, I feel your pain. I just sold my Camaro about a month ago....hated to see her go, but there really wasn't going to be another way out of the situation.

Thanks Cheezee. I appreciate the generous and sympathetic heartfelt expressions of grief that you have expressed on my behalf for my sold comrade and for the enthusiastic vroom-vroom noises which you are making to help ease my pain and loss, unlike Batman and his green-eyed monster, who choose to stay in their igloos with their dogsleds and continue to be frozen by the elements of the far north.
Seriously, it is hard to get rid of something you love even if in the end it profits you, no matter what it is.

they are all peddalin variety...

1 Hard Tail MTB
1 Full Suspension MTB
2 Road bikes
2 TT/Triathlon bikes

Really I only ride the FS MTB, and one road bike and one TT bike. The rest are mostly collecting dust, but i keep them for the odd time when i wanna ride. I still want to buy a Cyclo cross bike(road bike for offroading), a fixie(fixed gear bike, think track bike for outside), and another road bike and another TT bike. Its alot of money though, so it will be a slow process. The TT bike I want costs about $7000 cdn.

I think they are kinda ugly. I just dont like the sloping sides on the box. I saw one with a cap on the back....it looked really weird. Though my roomate was telling me the other day they are pretty top end in the saftey end of things.

Man, thats not to bad. I already own the race wheels. It is about $4000 for the frame, about 1500 for the drivetrain, about 700-1000 to put good handle bars on it. so maby not qite 7, more like 6000. My good race wheels cost me 1800. They are worth way more. A friend of mine needed money so i go them for real cheap.

Alot of my friends think i am insane, but if you think about it you spend alot of money on other sports and not even think about it. No one said anything when I was a competitive downhill skiier. It cost me like $2000 for a season pass, and close to $500 for every race i did(every second weekend all winter). So that adds up. It is all a matter of perspective.

If you enjoy it, thats the main thing.

I think altogether my bike plus leathers etc cost about £8000.00,
Hobbys are not cheap these days !
